Hello! If you are visiting this site, most likely you are interested in beginning or are already on the journey of homeschooling.
I am a homeschooling mom and love to answer questions and offer guidance. I have been homeschooling in PA for 13 years! I have six children and have been homeschooling them since the beginning. My oldest is set to graduate in 2025!
Teaching has always been a passion of mine, encouraging students and watching them grow not just in knowledge but also in character. With homeschooling, another desire has become helping families begin their homeschooling journey, guiding them and helping them be successful in educating their children. With all my teaching experience between private school, homeschool and within homeschool community I am familiar with a wide range of curriculum as well as different types of schooling and enjoy helping families find what works the best for their child.
Throughout my years of homeschooling, understanding the homeschool law has been very important to me. I am not a lawyer but I am a homeschooling parent and like to know exactly what is and is not required of me. I enjoy asking questions, researching, and staying up to date on all the legislation pertaining to home education in Pennsylvania to not only help myself but to help other homeschooling families as well.
As an evaluator, I fall under the “other” category mentioned in the law. With this category, I need to be approved by a school district in order to evaluate in that district. I am currently approved in:
- Cumberland Valley School District
- Mechanicsburg Area School District
- Northern York School District
- West Shore School District
- Central Dauphin School District
- Elizabethtown Area School District
Approval in a district is usually very simple. If you are in a district not listed about and are interested in my services, I can easily guide you on how to submit my information to your district for approval.
As an evaluator, my job is to see that learning has occurred throughout the school year. I believe that the homeschool supervisor (the parent) knows how their child learns best and am open to all kinds of schooling (traditional, unschooling, etc).
